FY24 Local Priorities

Special consideration will be given to proposals that
– present a clear budget, an actionable plan, and realistic expectations
– will expose the community to a broad range of artistic traditions and expressions
– will expand and raise awareness of underrepresented peoples, ideas, and cultures
– will explore and celebrate the history, environment, and community of Westhampton

FY24 Local Guidelines

The Westhampton Cultural Council (“WCC”) invites artists, musicians, and performers, as well as arts teachers and arts mentors, to consider submitting an application for a local cultural council grant.

The WCC has traditionally funded a variety of programs in the arts, sciences and humanities: classes, presentations and performances that happen in and near Westhampton, and benefit Westhampton residents of all ages. In recent years, the WCC has approved grants ranging from $50 to $600 per applicant or event.

While the WCC is interested in events intended for general audiences with a range of backgrounds, and interests, it will also consider proposals for events or classes intended for a more focused audience.

Events and programs should be fully open and accessible to all; if in a facility, it must be fully ADA compliant and accessible.

Letters of support from hosting or collaborating institutions, where applicable, are an essential part of any successful application. If a partnership with a local organization or venue is proposed, then written confirmation from that partner of the collaboration must be included with the application.

Applicants should state clearly how they intend to respect public health issues related to gatherings, and (as applicable) provide a secondary venue or presentation option should the need arise.
