Please read this section carefully before applying to the Lynn Cultural Council. Our local requirements are as follows:
1. Projects must have clearly articulated goals, activities, and budgets.
2. Projects must occur during the calendar year (January - December) following the October application deadline.
3. Projects must have a confirmed venue. A letter from the venue confirming your project must be uploaded as an attachment to your online application.
4. LCC grant funding MUST NOT be the only means of support for your project. Because funds are limited, your event should be able to proceed with only partial funding from the Lynn Cultural Council.
5. The budget figures you provide in the online application should show the TOTAL project cost, not just the partial cost you are asking LCC to cover.
6. Priority will be given to Lynn-based artists, performers, makers, and organizations.
7. Grant funds cannot be used for transportation or refreshments.
8. LCC applications are judged separately then weighed against the merits of other programs with consideration given to criteria such as clear program planning, performer's qualifications, community benefit, and clear budget.
9. Use of funds: All funds granted by the LCC are good for 1 year from the date of the grant approval letter and not transferable to other programs or venues. Funds are to be used as described in your original grant application. Any extension or change in program or venue must be received and approved in writing or email by the Lynn Cultural Council.
10. Applicants' scoring may be impacted if they are prior LCC grantees that have not
1. fulfilled MCC/LCC crediting requirements or
2. submitted grant reimbursements in prior years.
11. Beginning this year (2018/2019) Grants will be paid in advance instead of on a reimbursement basis. Once a grant is approved the grantee must submit a Grant Acceptance form. At that time the grant will be processed and paid. When the program is complete the grantee must submit a Final Report within two weeks. Forms should be emailed to: lynnculturalcouncil@gmail.com.
