The Southbridge Cultural Council priorities for new applications include (with no order of importance) the following categories:
Southbridge applicants(individuals), artists, performers,private non-profit organization, schools, library, and religious groups. Please read requirements of MCC and especially the Southbridge criteria for compliance.
Applicants from other parts of the state are also considered with the same criteria requirements of MCC and especially that of Southbridge for compliance
New applicants, art forms and humanities under represented, and projects interested in promoting cultural diversity in the community are considered.and must follow MCC and especially the Southbridge criteria. Please read both for compliance.
Location and venue
The activity must take place in Southbridge.
The VENUE and DATE must be confirmed BEFORE the online application is submitted to MCC, Boston, MA.
The event must be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and be handicapped accessible.
A change of venue / or date of event requires a job modification letter to the SCC for approval by the Southbridge Cultural council before the event /performance takes place.
Marketing and Promotion
The event must be promoted according to the criteria rules of the MCC and SCC. Refer to the grant acceptance letter when received in January 2021 and refer also to the MCC website on Contract/Requirements for specifics and the SCC criteria as well which is different in some areas from the MCC criteria. In some instances the use of the MCC logo is acceptable. ANY and ALL promoted / published materials must recognize the SCC support and the MCC support. ALL published copies of publicity before and after the event must be submitted (ALL NEWS RELEASES - especially to the Southbridge News - Calendar (community location of venue) 25 Elm St., Southbridge, MA 01550 (for effectiveness at least 2 weeks prior of event) ,SOCIAL MEDIA COPIES, FLYERS, PROGRAMS,TICKETS, ETC), must be submitted with the reimbursement form. The individual in charge of the event publicity MUST be made aware of the required written criteria of the MCC and SCC for compliance to receive the grant funding
Reimbursement
This SCC does not participate in Direct Grant Reimbursement. ll All reimbursement forms with the required criteria documentation must be sent to the mailing address of the grant letter .
The reimbursement form with all documented PUBLISHED materials must be submitted no later than one year from the grant acceptance letter of January 20, 2021 for NEW applications. For grants of 2020 reschedule in 2020. If not possible in 2020, grants of 2020 may also be rescheduled in 2021 up to October 15, 2021 in every case with the same confirmed venue. The SCC must have all regular mailed letter requests of rescheduled events by June 14, 2021. If no date in 2020 or 2021 is possible, the SCC must still be notified by June 14 2021 .Grantees must plan ahead . Do not miss out with a possible rescheduled date in 2021 . SCC must know for reporting to MCC what you wish to do. Any rescheduling from June 14 to the October 15 deadline must be in place and reported to the SCC before the June 14 deadline report to MCC
Reimbursement funds are processed as usual only after the event / performance takes place, and the payment itself may take 3 to 4 weeks for processing.
Application procedures
For the FY2021 grant cycle, grant applications opens electronically to MCC on Tuesday, October 1, 2020. Before applying, all applicants must review the online MCC Contract/Requirements - Guidelines and the Southbridge Criteria . The deadline date for NEW applications of 2021 is Monday, November 16, 2020 at midnight with no exceptions.
The SCC will only accept applications submitted via the MCC online form. No paper applications will be accepted. /P>
New to field trips - applications use the MCC standard online form only.
For field trips, the SCC funds only the student admission portion and requires the same criteria as MCC.and SCC
