Other MCC Services for LCC Applicants

In addition to the LCC Program, Massachusetts Cultural Council supports the arts and culture sector through a broad mix of funding programs and services:


Adams Arts Program - funding initiatives that connect artists and cultural organizations to local and state economic development efforts, nurture new arts and cultural enterprise development, raise awareness of the Commonwealth's cultural products, and increase arts and cultural visitors to the state

Artist Fellowships - grants to individual artists in Choreography, Crafts, Drawing, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Film and Video, Music Composition, Painting, Photography, Playwriting, Poetry, Sculpture/Installation, and Traditional Arts.

Big Yellow School Bus - provides $200 grants to help schools meet the transportation costs of educational field trips to cultural institutions and activities in Massachusetts.

Cultural Facilities Fund - the fund provides Capital Grants to promote the acquisition, design, repair, rehabilitation renovation, expansion, or construction of nonprofit cultural facilities in Massachusetts.

Cultural Investment Portfolio - provides unrestricted funding for nonprofit arts, humanities, and interpretive science organizations in Massachusetts.

STARS Residencies - grants of $500-$5,000 to schools to support creative learning residencies of three days or more in the arts, sciences, and humanities.

Traditional Arts Apprenticeships - grants to master artists to support the teaching of rare traditional arts.

YouthReach - grants that promote out-of-school arts, humanities and science opportunities in youth development programs.


ArtistLink - A collaborative effort to create a stable environment for Massachusetts artists as they seek workspace and housing.

Cultural Districts - This initiative will encourage Massachusetts communities to strengthen this sense of place, while stimulating economic activity, improving the experiences of visitors to our communities, and creating a higher quality of life. - A free online job directory, where creative employers and jobseekers click in Massachusetts. - is an online cultural marketplace that brings together New England's performing and teaching artists and the people and organizations who hire them.
